"I've known Jim Lowrey for almost 30 years and have always respected him as the most knowledgeable and experienced person I knew when it came to cars. Buying cars through Jim has made the process literally a breeze!  Even more important to me than his expertise is his honesty and integrity. I would recommend Jim to anyone wanting to buy or sell a car!"  MG, AL

FANTASTIC!

I highly recommend Jim with Classic-Car Store to help you find your next classic vehicle. Jim was instrumental in helping me find my 1966 Ford Mustang GT. The experience was so successful that I asked him to help me find my next "forever" car. Jim is very responsive, follows up and has excellent communication skills.

THANK YOU very much.... 5 STAR GOOGLE RATING by Dennis Lareau, FL

Hello Mr. Lowrey:  I wanted to tell you the ’77 Corvette made it home safely.  I know you were a little concerned about driving it this far, but I had no problems at all.  It turned heads all the way home.  My buddies are “jealous”.  Thank you again for being honest about the car and I know I will enjoy it for a long time.  RT, MS

I have been a hot rod guy since a kid. One car I have always wanted was a 1936 Chevrolet 5 Window Coupe that was ready to go. I found one that was close to my dream car on Classic Car Store’s website. All steel body built from the ground up as a Pro-Touring car and built right. Jim was very helpful, specific and told me the good and bad about the car. I decided to buy it, bought a one-way ticket from Oklahoma to Birmingham, AL. I hoped the car was what it was supposed to be. Jim picked me up at the Airport and took me to the Owner, an elderly gentleman in a small country town. The car was everything represented, much nicer than I expected. After getting the banking handled I made a road trip back home to Oklahoma stopping and seeing a couple of friends on the way back. Not one problem with the car. Overall it was an excellent experience, especially when you are buying a car from photos and getting information from someone you don’t know. If you want a straight shooter when buying a Classic Car, Jim is the man. Thank you, DF-OK

This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Pro Touring Build Is In Need Of Track Time!

Pro Touring builds can empty your wallet faster than a dam breach can empty a lake, but that doesn’t need to be the case. Pick a car with a good setup to begin with, focus on the right parts, and put it together with care and consideration, and you wind up with a performer. Take some time to work on aesthetics, and you wind up with a winner. That’s exactly where this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Pro Touring build lies…it’s a winner from tip to tail, a great execution of restomodification.
At first glance, you see a very clean rubber-nosed Camaro that has been treated to a very nice cleanup. Fresh paint and new stripes go a long way, and the CCW three-piece wheels are a great selection. The stance is spot-on, and everything looks nice and tidy. But it also looks purposeful, and that starts to really show once you get into the guts of the Chevy. Hiding under that scooped hood is a Dart “Little M” block filled with a SCAT forged crank, 10:1 Wiseco pistons, a Howards hydraulic roller camshaft, FiTech fuel injection, and 525 horsepower on tap. A Tremec TKO600 is always lovely to see, and out back a 9-inch rear end with Heidts four-link, 3.73 gears and QA1 units keep everything nice and planted so that the 225-section front and 325-section rear Toyo Proxess R888s can do their job.
Inside, the “mostly stock but modified well” theme continues with an all new interior that sports non-stock chairs for the front passengers and a Dakota Digital gauge cluster setup. All in all, this build was someone’s pet project and that it’s even being let go is amazing…normally, a car of this caliber is someone’s lifetime car, but who knows…maybe an even more tempting project has come along. All we know is that there are roadcourses and road rallies that this Camaro needs to see, and if the price stays in the five-figure range, it’ll be money well worth spent.
