Description
This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Hardtop Coupe with the highly desired Matching #’s, 340 HP, 4 Speed & some say the "best" color, Silver Blue with Blue Interior. It has been owned for over 25 years with the current Owner. He recently had it professionally and fully restored, replacing anything that needed replacing with the correct replacements. The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe is the “Icon” of the Corvettes. This is your opportunity to own this “Icon”. 1963 Corvette brought a brand-new style and the unique, special rear “Split Windows” Hardtop. It’s one-year run is because a Chevrolet Ivory Tower Executive (some say Zoro Arkus Dutov agreed) said “no” to the Split Windows for the 1964 forward. Why? He said it was a safety hazard trying to see out the rear window. Like any older, special collectable cars, they aren’t being made anymore. Engine choices for the 1963 Corvette was the base 327-250 HP, 327-300 HP, 327-340 HP, 327-360 Fuel Injected HP. There didn’t make many 340 HP (less than 6,000 which includes Hardtops and Convertibles) and even fewer Fuel Injected. Like many Corvettes 1963 was about 50%/50% Coupes/Convertibles. There were many convertibles, (which also looked similar to their newer counterparts) for the next few years. But not the Split Window Coupe. It is not mistaken by Collectors, Investors and Enthusiasts. Only one year made, 1963. This is why it is the "Icon or Holy Grail" of Corvettes.
This car has been owned by the same owner for over 25 years. He had it fully and totally restored correctly with what it needed recently. Documentation of the Restoration Process is available. The frame is “Powder Coated”. It is as nice underside as it is on the Exterior. This car has been on the cover of some Publications as well as having photos in other publications. This would certainly be a “Top Flight” NCRS, if entered for scoring, but this owner bought and restored it to drive occasionally, not to be keep it stored or let it be a "Trailer Queen".
